Was it a meteor that fell over mexico recently?

Unfortunately this is a classic case of someone filming a high flying aircraft at either sunrise or sunset. It is obviously not a meteor as it is moving far too slow. The aircraft and its contrail reflect the light of the sun that is below the horizon.
Why does it look like its heading almost straight at the ground?
If that lazy Mexican had bothered to run up that hill, then we would had known!
