Thoughts on Annie Jacobson's new book Area 51 ?

Many different opinions are coming in on Annie Jacobsen's newly released a book ‘Area 51′. Jacobsen reports that the famous Roswell UFO crash wasn’t a UFO, but a spy plane sent by the USSR which crashed during an electrical storm. Of course her new book goes against the common belief in Ufology (& numerous witness testimonials) that Roswell was a crashed Ufo & involved the recovery of alien bodies.
Would like your feedback on her interview below:

Short synopsis of the book:

Myths and hypotheses about Area 51 have long abounded, thanks to the intense secrecy enveloping it. Some claim it is home to aliens, underground tunnel systems, and nuclear facilities. Others believe that the lunar landing itself was filmed there. The prevalence of these rumors stems from the fact that no credible insider has ever divulged the truth about his time inside the base. Until now.

Annie Jacobsen had exclusive access to nineteen men who served the base proudly and secretly for decades and are now aged 75-92, and unprecedented access to fifty-five additional military and intelligence personnel, scientists, pilots, and engineers linked to the secret base, thirty-two of whom lived and worked there for extended periods. In Area 51, Jacobsen shows us what has really gone on in the Nevada desert, from testing nuclear weapons to building super-secret, supersonic jets to pursuing the War on Terror.

This is the first book based on interviews with eye witnesses to Area 51 history, which makes it the seminal work on the subject. Filled with formerly classified information that has never been accurately decoded for the public, Area 51 weaves the mysterious activities of the top-secret base into a gripping narrative, showing that facts are often more fantastic than fiction, especially when the distinction is almost impossible to make.

I have not read the book, and I have no intention of doing so. What I do know is that the child who was at the crash site, now grown, said that the alien being spoke to him telepathically. She is probably just trying to make a buck, and unless someone in the military comes out and tells us the truth, she can get away with whatever she claims.

I've totally been meaning to read this. I'd like to know who her "source" is though, or at-least get some details about their credentials

complete horse crap. just a bunch of gov't sponsored disinformation

To judge from the summaries, the part about Roswell is unmitigated BS. Stalin had other things on his mind than flying "remote-controlled boomerang-shaped spy craft crewed by surgically altered children" over the US. Geez... wotta crock.

Hah!

This whacko sounds like she's part of the machine. Maybe tell her to check out Jesse Marcel Jr's little book he wrote about the whole Roswell incident-- the one his father was a part of, and the one which he saw physical parts from in his parents' kitchen. Oh yeah, that little publication, written by a DOCTOR in the MILITARY. Hmmmm. Is he a credible source? Nah! Prolly just out for money and fame. That's why Jacobson didn't take into account a grain of salt from his report?

Like I was saying, this woman is a whack job.

Man, someone comes out with a totally believable, non-Alien themed book about Area 51 and you guys tear her to pieces, without reading as much as a single page. You commentors are the reason no one takes us seriously. Anytime anyone messes with any of your favorite stories you rage out. These personnel are far more believable then a guy who says he saw an Alien at the crash site as a kid and it mind talked to him...

If this were some Russian stunt, for what reason would the US Govt have to cover it up? Sounds like something you would expose, make fun of and a few laughs. Oh wait, we're doing that now.

Do you remember the Video's:

Project Camelot interviewing;
RICHARD HOAGLAND Talks about:NASA
Gov. Nazies, Masons-Magicians.UFO.

And Richard pointed out.."There's
a lie at every level, that is perpetuated by the next person who believes it to be true, and the spin goes on & on.......

Makes my head spin!

i have not read the book but listened to her interview with terri gross on NPR a few days ago. It seems like her key source regarding the UFO crash site has played her well. i might have believed her if she said it was a U.S. military test flight. However, confirming from her source that there were bodies at the site and that they were russian hybrids genetically altered to look like aliens is totally unbelievable. It would seem that she would need more than one source to back up this conspiracy theory.

@ poster # 6: I've said it before & i'll say it again, the anon. trolls eat at the integrity of this site like ass cancer every-time they make a post. They tear everything apart & discredit it no matter what it is usually based off of little to no research.

russian spy plane? No way, no moving parts with bodies being found at around 3 foot in length. no way. this is another attempt of someone just cashing in on the story by selling books taken from another angle. so many witnesses have come forward confirming and correlating the ufo theory. When the mig 31 first came to light after a russian pilot defected to the west the aircraft was totally unknown to nato but the technology was old hat. if the russians had that type of tech we would all be speaking russian today.

I have an observation.
I saw one of the photos of the supposed mengele-made children mutants (were they Jewish?) on the UK Daily mail (i think), and immediately knew that she has the wrong photos. Very fishy... I have seen a video of the Roswell crash alien and it doesn't look like the thing in her photo. So as far as I am concerned, I don't buy into her book and wouldn't even bother reading it. I think that to people that do not believe in aliens, her version of things sounds a hundred times more ludicrous: Mutant children created by Mengele the Nazi, who happen to know how to fly a flying saucer?!!! She has got to be kidding!

This is obviously a blatant attempt to discredit the 'credible' research that others have done. The fact that she states in this interview..."some guys sitting in a bar say a few words and suddenly there's a story"...proves she is a disinfo. agent. Everyone that's studied the subject knows that the stories out there never came to light in this way...she is slighly trying to make people who know nothing about the subject believe that all the stories are just some drunks talking! Even when she used the word UFO..ologists...you can clearly see that she is NOT legitimate researcher or writer...this is purely another attempt by the powers-that-be to fool you thru the media!

Annie Jacobson is a joke. Her earlier work, Terror in the Skies was proven to be hokum by Snopes.com. Now we are to believe Roswell was really about a crashed Soviet spy plane manned by midget teenagers! Hahahahaha!

The truth is; No1 is ever going to know what ACTUALLY happened except the people who were there, & i don't think they're going to be spilling the beans. I just find it entertaining to hear different perspectives & apply my own take on it. Who fucking knows what's true & what's speculation. It's just fun to hear a different spin on it

Well I'm going to read this book. But,My Initial problem is the idea of any Soviet aircraft being able to penetrate US airspace as deep as AZ. Remember this was the home of the 509 Bomb group! It would be an act of war not an act of Terrorism! And if I had technology like that I wouldn't use it to "scare" people. You also must connect "Roswell" with the Kennith Arnold sighting and all the others at that time and thiese objects were flying at supersonic speeds and if the USSR had that kind of technology why did they fly Mig 15's and 17's? I think that the US may have been visited by ET beings and that tnis happened only once during the summer of 1947. They may have been "scout" ships from a "sub light" speed convoy for a nearby star like row boats form Spanish exploration ships. But this sounds like and interesting book none the less. By the way... has anyone seen the just released Guy Hottel FBI memo from 1950 Re. 3 "discs" revovered in New Mexico?

Regardless of whether aspects of the book are true, I found it interesting in other ways, like I now know quite a bit about the airbase and what else went on there over the years. And, at the end of the day, who knows what to believe, we are all on a NEED-TO-KNOW
