Im Back

Hi All,

I am finally back after my mac book broke on my asia holiday. I am and going through a list of over a hundred emails with recent ufo sightings and will have daily posts back up asap.

After my asia experience i have learnt the importance of not posting videos that look like chinese lanterns, they so easily look like ufos and can mimic triangle formations - especially in January / new year when asian people normally let them all off.

Welcome back! Might I make a suggestion for a new year's worth of blogging?

When a video is of three points of light, don't promote it as a "triangle ufo." Three points of light do not a structured, delta-shaped craft make. As you recently noted yourself, chinese lanterns can look like "ufos" and the profusion of videos showing three of these silly things in the air, with the headline "triangle ufo," serves only to dilute the impact of more credible sightings. So, while your blog is a great service to those of us interested i the phenomenon, I feel at times you have perpetuated the muddying of the waters with postings of such dubious, dime-a-dozen videos. High grade your selections and leave the chaff on the floor! Thanks for reading.

To the posting re: 3 points of light and triangles - I absolutely agree.

Folks, the only other shapes points of light can make in two dimensions are:

* a triangle
* a dot (all together)
* a straight line

Given three dots and an observer under them, the ONLY shape that is realistic is a triangle. So what?

This does not imply a "formation" or a solid object with a "cloaking" device that permits the stars to shine through etc etc.

Lets focus on the.

Otherwise we're going to end up sounding like 12th century peasants in awe of normal, everyday things passed off a mystical UFOs.

The other ones we need to scrutinize are the photos of "I was out fishing and took 3 snaps. I didn't notice anything at the time but after I got these on the 'puter there were some smudges that look like aliens or something or 'rods' ". Meanwhile, a couple of moths or blue flies flipped passed at exposure time.

I dont suggest stop posting - but lets be harshly critical of the titles used and any assumed conclusions etc to avoid throwing the possible edge cases into the crackpot dustbin full of 3 lantern triangles and insect blurs :-)

Keep up the good work! Glad you are back !
