Ufo Hunters - Aliens at the Airport

This new episode of Ufo Hunters aired the other day:
On November 7th, 2006, a strange object hovered for ten minutes over Gate C17 at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago before rapidly ascending into the sky. And on October 23rd of 2004, in Osaka, Japan a UFO was spotted tailing Japanese Airlines flight 1512 as it came in for a landing. Are UFOs following our own commercial aircraft, and surveying our airports?

Just finished watching the episode and, while it was entertaining and informative, had a distinct tone of hyperbole. The commentary elicited from eyewitnesses, along with the CGI recreations of the incident, were hardly balanced and seemed designed to lead the viewer to the conclusion that what was seen by approximately a dozen witnesses was, in fact, an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

Other explanations were not even given due consideration. The most likely explanation, proffered by the FAA and air traffic controllers, that the phenomenon was due to some unusual weather or light from the airport reflecting off the undersurfaces of clouds, was ridiculed in favor of theories suggesting that the FAA, United Airlines, and experienced air traffic controllers all conspired to hush up the incident.

The fact that hundreds, if not thousands, of people were in the area at the time and saw nothing is given no credence at all.

As far as the incident at the Osaka Airport in Japan, perhaps the fact that no one could see the purported object with the naked eye, but that one individual captured a fuzzy, poorly defined light source on videotape, is evidence of a defect in the video camera, the videotape, or light reflecting off the metal surface of the nearby airplane itself, rather than evidence of an extraterrestrial spacecraft traveling at hundreds or thousands of miles per hour.

Finally, the fact that neither of these objects showed on radar is less evidence that UFO's use some sort of advanced stealth technology, and more evidence that they are due to misidentified natural phenomena that would not be expected to reveal themselves on radar.

I am sure that the people who claimed to see an object flying or hovering in the air that they could not identify are being truthful and earnest. I am merely skeptical of the explanations offered by the UFO Hunter team.
